The Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne (BGCFW), located within Timothy L. Johnson Leadership Academy, is working every day to make a difference in the lives of students.

The organization provides access for student to receive individualized tutoring services with an emphasis on quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programming. Specialty Tutoring has been instrumental. Evaluations show that every student who utilized tutoring services in 2016-2017 improved their reading and math abilities. BGCFW provides several opportunities for students to engage in STEM activities. In addition to offering FIRST LEGO League and evidence-based STEM curricula, BGCFW has partnered with Science Central to provide in-house science activities from their specially trained staff.

These programs have been very successful at Timothy L. Johnson Academy, creating a strong community partnership with a focus on academic achievement.
