Mrs. Washington's 2nd-grade classes conducted their first surgery on words! Scholars were learning about contractions (shortening words by replacing one or more letters with an apostrophe).

Scholars performed surgery by "removing" letters from one word and "bandaging" them together with an apostrophe. Check out pictures from their surgery.
