Middlebury Academy Launches School Partnership with PLA

Dear Middlebury Families,

We hope that this note finds you and all of our students safe and well. We know that this is an unprecedented time for schools and families across the country. Our thoughts are always with you. Despite the circumstance, we are thankful to have you as a part of the Middlebury family. We miss you and our students, and we cannot wait to see you again.

In the meantime, we want you to know that we are working diligently to help support student learning from home. In early January, we began a new school partnership with Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA). PLA is a non-profit school network that supports 22 schools across the country in raising scholar achievement and working with staff and communities so that students have engaging and uplifting opportunities to learn and grow each day. We are collaborating with PLA, as our school management company, to provide at-home learning packets, develop an online learning platform and to also get supply bags to our scholars and families later this month. It is an extremely challenging time for everyone, but we are excited that we have such a strong school partner with a track record of helping teachers, schools and scholars excel. PLA has transformed six F-rated schools into A-Rated schools. We look forward to what they will bring to our staff, school and scholars.

In addition to our online learning platform and school supplies, we are also working with PLA to launch a new website that will include a mobile app so that parents and teachers have access to school news, a portal to virtual learning,  school calendars, contact information, school alerts and updates at your fingertips.

We have attached for you a family fact sheet about Phalen Leadership Academies. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at audra.bobbs@middleburyacademy.org.

Please continue to stay safe, and reach out to us if we can support you in any way with home-learning. There is more info to come to help support you and our students during this time. Our doors are always open to you, please reach out if you need us.

All the Best,

Audra Bobbs
