Saving the Monarchs 

Shout out to our 2nd grade scholars who are always in a world of learning and discovery with project-based learning. Here are scholars are creating a monarch rearing station in the PBL Lab to help save these endangered butterflies. They have been researching the life cycle and needs of the monarch and carefully prepared this home for the tiny caterpillars from the educational program Monarch Watch at Kansas State. Journaling and recording the changes in the caterpillars are a key part of the project. In collaboration with KCA School Agers, they will be establishing a Monarch Waystation and applying for certification.
