PLA Scholar Darrance Jennings, fellow students and staff filled the Indiana State House to ask the Charter Board Panel to grant permission for James and Rosemary Phalen (JRP) Academy to become a high school. Jennings spoke about his life before and after joining PLA.

After hearing testimony from scholars and staff, the board voted YES to a growing JRP. Next year the school will offer grades 7-10 -- adding a grade each year, within the next three years JRP will serve scholars grades K-12.
