Trix Academy’s 7^th and 8^th grade scholars will be asked to put an eye on their future by completing an Educational Development Plan (EDP).

An EDP is a document showing a student’s education and career goals and a way to achieve those goals.  It is more comprehensive than a schedule of classes because it includes information a student can use to make wise choices about career options.

This plan will help scholars begin focusing on high school to help them better prepare for their next level of education. Scholars will research various high schools, begin learning about various higher learning opportunities as well as the various careers after they have completed high school.

The EDP is an ongoing plan that does not stop at the middle school level. Scholars and parents use an EDP to focus and plan in order to successfully complete graduation requirements and prepare for the transition to post-secondary education and on to the world of work.

Parents are asked to speak with scholars about their EDP and help them plan for the future.
