PLA Joins the Beaumont Community

Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) has officially joined the Beaumont community as a school management partner for Jones-Clark Elementary School and Smith Middle School. The organization recently met with community members to talk about plans for raising student achievement and supporting Beaumont scholars in fulfilling their tremendous innate potential.

“We believe that our scholars have the ability to be the best of the best; but it is up to us as adults to support them, to nurture their learning, to challenge them and help them to grow and excel,” said PLA’s Founder and CEO, Earl Martin Phalen, as he spoke with community members. “We are extremely excited to work with Beaumont scholars. We’ve already met many of them, and we know that they are capable of achieving anything. Your students are the leaders of the future, and we want to help make sure that they receive the quality education that will help them to achieve their dreams.”

PLA has a history of turning F-rated schools into A-rates schools. They have already begun working with school leaders to assess curriculum and ensure its alignment with state standards. The organization will also begin to coach teachers and provide supportive resources and framework around administration. Academics and climate and culture will also be adjusted for improvement based on data and scholar needs. School sports, school hours, uniforms and student programs will remain unchanged.

“We are here to support the many great educators that serve in our partner schools, and your scholars and their dreams,” said Phalen. “We look forward to working with you in service of your children.”
