Founder of Phalen Academies to Talk With Arts Leaders About New Arts Center

Thanks to a $3,045,350 grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc., Phalen Leadership Academies is transforming an old church into an arts center.

The project, titled Arts as Empowerment, aims to transform an unused church on the Far Eastside into a dynamic community arts and cultural center. In addition, nearly 1,500 students at Phalen Leadership Academies will receive robust and immersive arts and cultural learning experiences, such as the opportunity to create original plays and compose film scores.

On Thursday, April 4, 10 a.m., Earl Martin Phalen, the Founder & CEO of the school network will meet with local arts organizations and arts education advocates to solicit their feedback on how to best approach this project, especially with partnerships and communal input at the forefront. You can reserve your spot to this event here.
